Tour Plan

Pick up from the airport or hotel and drive to Queen Elizabeth national park. The park is situated in the western part of the country. Briefly stop at the equator for illustrations and photography. Arrive at your hotel late evening 8 to 9 hours drive.

Have an early breakfast and embark on a 4 hours game drive to look out for lions, hyenas leopards, elephants, buffalos, Uganda kobs, waterbucks and warthogs plus thousands of different bird species.  Come back have lunch and take a boat safari on Kazinga channel. The boat safari is a great way to enjoy water, animals, birds and photography. The Kazinga Channel in Uganda is a wide, 32-kilometre long natural channel that links Lake Edward and Lake George, and a dominant feature of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The channel attracts a varied range of animals and birds, with one of the world’s largest concentration of hippos and numerous Nile crocodiles.

Early morning breakfast and head out for chimpanzee tracking in the famous kyambura gorge. This is a 3 to 4 hours activity whereby you walk with a ranger guide and get closer to our closest cousins, spend one hour with them, take enough photos with flash lights off and later walk back. Afterwards drive off to bwindi national park, lunch will be enroute

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Gorilla Trekking) to Lake Bunyonyi

The highlight of the Great Apes Safari starts when you wake early (06:00), have your breakfast, and be at the trailhead in time for the  briefing in the Southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Your guide will make sure that you have packed lunch and mineral drinking water. You will be briefed on the does and don’t while tracking Gorillas and then start the activity at 08h00.When you spot the Great Apes, you will be able to spend an hour with them. Your time in the forest cannot be pre-determined as every day is different from that previous, after this enticing experience you will be transfered to Lake Bunyonyi.

The drive will be in the beautiful part of the country often referred to as ‘the Switzerland of Africa’ because of its unique cool weather despite being near the Equator. This lake is said to be one of the most beautiful places in western Uganda and the second deepest lake in Africa (900 meters deep) and also one of the few places in the country where it is considered safe to swim as it is bilharzia free.

Note: Depending on your time of arrival at Lake Bunyonyi, you can pay the extra amount for the activity (Community Walk, Canoe Ride, Boat Ride, Bicycle Ride, Bird Watching, Cray Fishing or a visit to the batwa community.) directly at the accommodation and do the activity on this day or on the next day before departing back to Entebbe.

After breakfast you will be transferred back to Entebbe for your outbound flight back home or to your next destination via Equator for lunch and for pictures in the northern and southern hemisphere
